Kick off St. Patrick’s Day Weekend at the Greening of the Canal

For the 21st straight year, join in on the fun and help Indianapolis celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by making the downtown canal run green! If you have been part of this celebration in the past, you know it is a must-see. If you are new to Indianapolis, you don’t want to miss your chance to be part of the fun. Special Guests include Mayor Hogsett, The McGinley Family (Irish Citizen of the Year), and Sarah Taylor (Executive Director, Hoosier Lottery) with a performance by the Indianapolis 500 Gordon Pipers and Irish singer and songwriter, Katherine Nagy. Enjoy local food trucks and giveaways from the Hoosier Lottery.

  • Date: Thursday, March 15th
  • Time: 5:00pm – 6:00pm, Greening starts at approximately 5:45pm
  • Location: On Ohio Street between West Street and Senate. Located on the Canal just east of Fire Station 13 and across the Street from the Historical Society.

Run a 5k! Shamrock Beer Run

For those of us that won’t exercise unless booze is involved!

The festivities begin Saturday, March 17th at noon near downtown at Military Park. The walk/run starts at 2pm at the intersection of New York and West St. Be sure to check in early to allow yourself plenty of time!

The course will have several beer stops to quench your parched throat with 3 ounces of beer. Each stop will include brews from local hangs including Two Deep Brewing Co., Metazoa, Scarlet Lane and Dogfish Head Craft.

Tickets include a long-sleeve Shamrock Run tee, a souvenir pint glass, booze and an event medal for completing the course.

Bring the kids for the Indianapolis Parade & Block Party

Join in for the Hoosier Lottery's "Imagine That" Stage & Block Party with live music by Highland Region, Ennis Clare Band, and Joe Welch Band! “Irish Citizen of the Year” announced at 1:00 PM. Food, drinks, dancing, and festivities. Perfect for the family. The fun starts at 9am in the heart of downtown on Vermont Street between Meridian and Pennsylvania!

Georgia Street Blarney Bash

The Georgia Street Blarney Bash is back! On Saturday, March 17th Kilroy's Downtown Indy is hosting the biggest St. Patrick's Day party in Indianapolis!

Green beer, full bars, 32 oz. Lucky Long Island Iced Teas, DJs, live bands, big screen TVs, and food from Red Frazier Bison Cuisine.
